Quality Care

FVHO’s first priority is to provide you with the care that you need—when you need it—with compassionate, experienced providers.  You have access to 24/7 contact with your care team, including weekend and holiday clinic and on-call care provided by board certified oncologists.

Access to Information

You have the right to access information concerning your treatment, laboratory results, and insurance and billing information.

FVHO provides free aids and services to people with disabilities to communicate effectively with us, such as qualified sign language interpreters and written information in other formats (large print, audio, accessible electronic formats, other formats).

For patients whose primary language is not English, FVHO provides free language services, such as qualified interpreters and information written in other languages.

Access to Urgent Care and Emergency Services

You can reach FVHO during our normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM until 5 PM) or after hours through our answering service. In case of emergency, you are encouraged to dial 911.

Involvement in Your Care

You and your family have the right to know and discuss your medical condition and appropriate treatments. FVHO strives to make sure patients understand their healthcare goals, values, and outcomes.  Providers will discuss treatment options with patients and family members to ensure the right choice is made for treatment.

Involvement in your care means that at times, providers and their staff require information from you.  To ensure the best possible outcomes, patients are requested to comply with such requests for information.

Respect and Non-Discrimination

You have the right to compassionate, courteous care from your physician, nurse practitioner and clinical staff at FVHO.  FVHO does not discriminate against patients for any reason including but not limited to: gender, age, socio-economic status, ethnicity, religion or insurance status.


You have the right to speak confidentially with your healthcare provider and to have your privacy protected.

A Clean and Safe Environment

You have the right to a clean and safe treatment environment.

Patient Responsibilities

FVHO expects patients to assume responsibilities in their treatment outcomes.  Patients are expected to comply with treatment plans, communicate openly with the providers, and inform us about other treatments or medications you have had or are currently receiving.

The patient’s insurance is a contract between the patient and their insurance company.  FVHO will file claims and follow-up with all third- party payers such as Medicare and private insurance carriers.  Insurance and health information is often confusing and we encourage you to ask or seek help with any questions or concerns.  If you do not have health insurance, FVHO will help you navigate the financial costs of treatment.
