Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology (FVHO), northeast Wisconsin’s cancer care specialist, is renaming its popular Survivorship Support Group series to the FVHO Hope Support Group.
“The term survivorship extends beyond patients in remission,” Jean Monson, events coordinator at FVHO, said. “Our FVHO Hope Support Group is open to anyone affected by cancer which also includes family members, caregivers and friends. Our new name better reflects our monthly support group discussion. Our goal is to uplift and inspire others.”
The February FVHO Hope Support Group meeting will take place on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 1 – 3:30 p.m. and again from 5:30 – 7 p.m.
February’s session will be led by Dr. Elizabeth Kimbrough, who specializes in integrative medicine at FVHO. Dr. Kimbrough will present on loving yourself unconditionally despite pressure from today’s society to be perfect at all times. In this short workshop, attendees will learn how to open up as it relates to physical, mental, emotional and spiritual life.
FVHO Hope Support Group meetings take place at FVHO’s Health & Wellness Center, located at 3925 N. Gateway Drive, Appleton. The FVHO Hope Support Group meeting is free with no advance registration required.
