FVHO, Fight Back Foundation to host educational program for caregiver

Powerful Tools for Caregivers meets Wednesdays, Oct. 4 through Nov. 8

APPLETON, Wis. (Sept. 27, 2017) – Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology (FVHO), northeast Wisconsin’s cancer care specialist, will host an educational program designed to help family caregivers learn to take care of themselves while caring for a relative or friend.

Participants in the Powerful Tools for Caregivers program, which takes place Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. beginning Oct. 4 through Nov. 8, will learn how to reduce stress, improve self-confidence, better communicate feelings, increase their ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers will take place at FVHO’s Health & Wellness Center, located at 3925 N. Gateway Drive, Appleton. The program is free thanks to the FVHO Fight Back Foundation, which aims to provide financial and educational support to cancer patients and their families, and cancer-related projects. The program has assisted patients with costs related to their care, such as gas cards, co-payments and hospital stays, as well as costs not covered by insurance.

The purpose of the FVHO Fight Back Foundation, Inc. is to provide financial and educational support to cancer patients and cancer-related projects. The FVHO Fight Back Foundation is a 501(c)(3), that was formed on April 19, 2016 with the initial goal of using its funds to help patients with their care through gas cards, co-payments, hotel stay, uninsured patients, etc.
